Summary: Assists Account Managers by making calls to clients or companies when necessary, processing changes and policies and providing service to clients and agents as instructed by the Account Manager, by performing the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Process change endorsements and audits, checking for accuracy

Process renewals and new policies, write letters, and neatly prepare for Account Manager/mailing

Prepare and process all requests for certificates of insurance as required within 3 hours of request

Invoice all premium bearing transactions

Handle telephone requests and correspondence in reference to assigned clients

Maintain all client activity and suspense items in the agency automation system

Prepare ID cards, evidence of property, certificates, binders, and/or obtain underwriter approval on manuscript endorsements

Prepare questionnaires and any other documents required by the various companies

Communicate with companies as needed

Prioritize work load and/or request for assistance as required

Problem solve as much as possible prior to seeking Account Manager assistance

Seek advice from Account Managers when problems arise with accounts

Assist Account Managers with other job responsibilities as assigned

Follow the guidelines outlined in our employee manual

Keep current on rates, forms and coverage changes through circulars and bulletins, trade publications and seminars and schools offered

Maintain required licenses

Attend monthly commercial lines meetings and account manager meetings

Compares and verifies data such as premiums, coverages, limits, etc. bound with same data on other records. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must become proficient in the agency's data management system and internet search engines; Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
