NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-0132-7/9/11, Work involves the collection, analysis, development, protection and dissemination of intelligence information which directly or indirectly affects the national security. This position is located in the Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) exploitation section at an Air National Guard (ANG) Intelligence unit. The primary purpose of the position is to perform specialized Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) duties as an Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) unit crew member and to train assigned military unit members in the duties and functions associated with ELINT tasking, exploitation, and dissemination (TPED).

Qualifications
  1. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts; experience preparing clear and concise written reports.

  2. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 - You must show at least 12 months experience, education or training investigating and collecting data to develop reports of findings; experience storing, controlling, destroying and accounting for classified documents.

  3. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 - You must show at least 24 months experience, education or training performing functions involving various intelligence systems and organizations; experience reviewing and analyzing data including technical reports, surveys, and studies; experience preparing and conducting training plans and programs, both formal and on-the-job.

  4. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 You must show at least 36 months experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others; Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports.

Describe the required 12 Months (GS 07), 24 Months (GS 09) or 36 months (GS 11) experience you have for each of the following. Please note that your answers will be verified against the information you provide on your resume or application.

  1. Performing functions involving various intelligence automated data processing systems and organizations
  2. Prepare and conduct training plans and programs, both formal and on-the-job.
  3. Investigate and collect data to make preliminary reports of findings.
  4. Review and analyze data including technical reports, surveys and studies.
  5. Evaluate and organize pertinent facts to prepare clear and concise all source intelligence reports.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the North Dakota National Guard.

Compatible Military Assignments: IN2X1C or those able to obtain this AFSC. Applicant is responsible to make sure they can militarily qualify for this position.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Acceptance of a Permanent or Indefinite Appointment with the NDNG will terminate enrollment in the Tri-Care Reserve Select Health Benefits program. Federal Law does not permit employee who are eligible for Federal Employee Health Insurance to carry Tri-Care Reserve health insurance.

Appointment to this position will be made at the beginning of a bi-weekly pay period. Applicants MUST understand that Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB), although may be elected within the 1st pay period of employment, are not effective until the pay period after they make their election. Election for FEHB must be made within 60 days from the 1st day of appointment.

Technician pay periods are 14 days in duration.

Acceptance of a Permanent or Indefinite Excepted service position will cause termination from Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) & Military Bonus Programs (Recoupment is dependent on type of bonus individual has).
