JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for leadership and direction of coding staff. Responsible for assuring staff adherence to coding related regulations and nationally recognized coding guidelines and practices. Provides leadership, technical expertise, and sets the coding standards for Sanford. Highly accountable for attainment of goals and revenue cycle key performance indicators. Implements and monitors adherence to standardized workflows, productivity, and quality standards for Sanford coding. Plans and implements new procedures, maintains appropriate staffing levels, makes budgetary recommendations, and leads coding related projects for Sanford. Collaborate with other leaders, particularly other coding leadership throughout the organization to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Demonstrates ability to develop, evaluate, monitor, educate and analyze health system coding processes on a daily basis to increase productivity and ensure the goals of Sanford are met. Strengthens relationships by communicating department activity and outcomes to other managers and service areas. Serves as an ambassador with clinical areas and providers regarding coding processes, reimbursement, provider feedback and coding audits to also include any foreseen impacts to compensation due to coding changes and/or errors.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Enterprise Manager Coding Provider Practice for procedural specialties in the North Region. Open to hiring someone located in Bismarck.

QUALIFICATIONS

CPC, COC, RHIT, RHIA CCS or CCS-P required. Must have a Bachelor's Degree in health-related field or equivalent work experience. Must have at least seven years of work experience related to coding. Must possess extensive knowledge of coding systems. Must possess extensive knowledge in state and federal laws, rules and regulations and accurately interpret and apply those laws, rules and regulations. Must have experience in project control, management, budgeting and planning techniques. Must have an understanding of intermediary auditing related to Medicare and third party payors.
