JOB SUMMARY

Assesses patients and designs occupational therapy treatments. Help patients to develop, maintain and recover their ability to perform tasks in living and working environments. Testing and evaluating the physical and mental abilities of patients; developing realistic rehabilitation goals and administering appropriate occupational therapy programs. Modifying work and living environments based on patient assessments; teaching patients how to use adaptive equipment. Liaising with other professionals (e.g. doctors, social workers, etc.) to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations and develop individual intervention plans. Recording patients' activities and progress and writing relevant reports; managing caseloads, prioritizing needs and completing administrative tasks (e.g. patient and budgetary records).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Applicant has the potential to work across 3 different locations within Fargo. Minimal requirements is 128 hrs per year or 3 weekend shifts per quarter. 1 holiday shift per year

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position. Must also be certified as an Occupational Therapist through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). May need additional certification in specialty practice as applicable. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy through an accredited curriculum by AOTA. Must have knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice. Basic Life Support certification is required.
