U.S. Bank Process/Risk/Control Analyst in Fargo, North Dakota

U.S. Bank’s Mortgage Servicing Division is seeking a Process/Risk/Control Analyst for the Performing Operations department. As an Analyst, you will be working directly with assigned business lines to design, compile and document high risk business processes, identify key risks and build effective primary controls and perform control monitoring evaluations for Performing Servicing Operations. The Analyst will review and utilize process maps, published procedures/reports and management reviews to design a control structure that ensures Performing Servicing’s key risks are identified, documented and properly controlled for. The Analyst will also evaluate effectiveness of the key controls by verifying adherence to documented control evidence on a continual basis.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

· Possess a minimum of 5 years of Process/Risk/Control competencies in mortgage operations (preferably, mortgage performing servicing operations)

· Strong familiarity with business processes, risk and control concepts

· Familiarity with project management concepts and methodologies

· Competent with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint tools

· Strong verbal, written and analytical skills with ability to maintain composure without buckling to business pressure

· Undergraduate degree in business, business management, finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

*Will include travel. Candidate will travel to Owensboro, KY approximately 50% for the first year, then taper to 10%.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Two to three years of experience in an applicable risk management environment

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business

  • Thorough understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls

  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies

  • Strong process facilitation, project management, and analytical skills

  • Must possess business acumen and credibility to help business line(s) proactively identify and address changing workforce needs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
