GOLDMARK Property Management Property Accountant in Fargo, North Dakota
The Property Accountant, under direction of the Director of Accounting, compile and report financial information to management and investors. They maintain control of cash management levels and provide support to Site staff.
Ensure decisions made and work completed represent GOLDMARK values of integrity, achievement, teamwork, excellence and innovation.
Prepare monthly financial statements for each of the properties. Review and research information for accuracy.
Assist in the preparation and input of annual operating budgets for the properties. Complete tracking and budget comparisons monthly.
Review invoices for accuracy, cut checks and distribute for accounts payables.
Serve as a resource to site staff on topics related to financial statements and the Yardi accounting system.
Responsible for balancing General Ledger accounts, reconciling bank statements, receipting and depositing miscellaneous collection items.
On a quarterly basis review and balance security deposits and replacement reserve funds. On a semi annual basis reconcile petty cash for all Sites.
Overtime is frequently required during the first quarter of the year, and may be occasionally required during the remainder of the year.
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education and Licensure:
Prior experience in accounting preferred and/or strong accounting knowledge necessary.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to relate to a diverse group of people.
A motivated, well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, manage time, as well as possess an orientation toward details.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area and volume.
Four year Bachelors degree in accounting or related subject preferred; or two to four years’ related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret information.
Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquires or complaints.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and schedule form.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; lift or move up to 25 pounds, and speak clearly and hear well.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Employee must be willing to work extended hours in a demanding and sometimes stressful environment. Evening and weekend work is required at times.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
