Delivers daily prescribed therapeutic radiation doses to radiation therapy patients safely and accurately. The therapist incorporates their technical knowledge of the equipment and expertise of clinical treatment set-up, anatomical landmarks, treatment recording and management during patient care. The therapist must be able to interact effectively and accurately with patients and their family members, physicians, health care workers and radiation oncology department personnel. Must possess the skills and knowledge necessary to be proficient in accurate delivery of prescribed doses of radiation, safety of patient during treatment, and documentation of patient care in the patient treatment record and Inpatient chart (if applicable). A patientΓÇÖs sensitivity and confidentiality must be practiced at all times with adherence all HIPAA compliance standards. The therapist develops an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status and reports that to the appropriate staff. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of all client populations.
Must be ARRT certified in Radiation Therapist along with North Dakota State Licensure. Would prefer a minimum of 2 years experience but new grads are welcome. Would prefer knowledge in ARIA, Varian 21 EX, Novalis TX, True Beam, Brain Lab, OBI, 4D-ITC,RPM, OSMS, Respiratory Gating, SRS, SBRT, IGRT. BLS certification required
Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). If working in ND and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, must be licensed through the ND MIRT Board of Examiners. Must have completed a course in radiation therapy from an approved school. Must have a good understanding of radiation therapy principles including dosimetry,treatment planning, radiation protection, and the nature and spread of cancer.
