Position Summary The Senior Engineer for Manufacturing is responsible for the creation of manufacturing documentation, procedures, and the transition of relevant information to the appropriate areas related to PRP (Product Realization Process) projects and new products. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical field and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience 4-6 years experience or knowledge in electronics manufacturing Ability to administer to and monitor multiple projects and resources in fast paced environment Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills Strong communication and writing skills Preferred experience working in highly regulated environments (i.e. FAA, FDA, Military, etc) Self-starter attitude with strong work ethic and sense of urgency Background in electronic circuit board assemblies a plus Experience working with cross-functional teams Supervisory experience a plus Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Reviews and update manufacturing cost worksheet for new products. Based on mechanical concepts defines the workflow for new products. Captures bill of operations (BOO’s) based on manufacturing workflows and standards. Defines manufacturing cycle time, and minimum order quantity (MOQ) for new products. Leads process failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) execution and defines action plans to mitigate high-risk priority number (RPN) for new products. Participates in engineering design reviews to ensure manufacturability of the new product. Develop and write manufacturing work instructions, standard operating procedures, and standard work creation or review. In conjunction with a Mechanical Engineer, designs manufacturing fixtures. Conducts production personnel training and equipment programming. Drives continuous improvement initiatives for current manufacturing engineering processes. Defines and regularly reviews the operation standard times used for quoting new products. Works directly with new product development teams to drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM). Drives manufacturing readiness for product launch and transfer to production. Defines and completes action plans to closed Problem Reporting Management System (PRMS). Defines criteria for layout design for manufacturing cells for new products. Supports continuous improvement programs and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Regular attendance due to face to face interaction with teams, clients, and other employees along with the use of on-site equipment. Why Work at Appareo Systems?
