Party City Team Leader - Fargo in Fargo, North Dakota

The primary responsibility of the Team Leader is to provide leadership and supervision (with direction from the Store Manager and/or Assistant Manager) in all aspects of store operations in order to meet or exceed sales and profitability goals. The specific areas of responsibility include: sales and service management, human resource management, merchandise/inventory management and operations/administration management. He/She exercises strong judgment and demonstrates commitment to the success of the company by positively supporting the company's and Store Manager's directives and objectives. Essential responsibilities include but not limited too: Sales and Service Management Positively communicates and models Party City's customer service standards and expectations. Builds customer clientele and customer loyalty by making customer satisfaction the store's top priority. Effectively implements Store Manager priorities to achieve sales and service goals. Increases average ticket sales by modeling suggestive selling skills through add-on sales opportunities. Ensures a fast and efficient checkout for customers. Keeps informed on new products and general party planning information. Handles customer complaints with professionalism and addresses customer concerns in a timely manner. Human Resource Management Assists the Store Manager in the recruiting and screening process regarding prospective candidates for hire. Provides input for associate performance evaluations. Assists in the development and training process in all areas of performance including customer service, code of conduct, policies and procedures, product knowledge, selling, merchandising, stock processing and operations. Ensures associates remain knowledgeable, informed, focused and productive through timely and continuous communication, direction and reinforcement. Maintains and models high standards of performance and conduct and holds team accountable. Adheres to directives regarding attendance and ensures store compliance. Models employee handbook standards and ensures store compliance. Inventory/Merchandise Management Ensures shipments are processed in a timely and accurate manner. Communicates inventory needs as appropriate to Store Manager. Understands and assist Store Manager in implementing corporate merchandising standards. Ensures standards are consistently followed through proper direction and feedback (i.e. seasonal sets, plan-o-grams, facing/fronting of merchandise, restocking, promotions, tagging and signage). Effectively maintains presentations of all elements visible to customers and non-sales areas (store maintenance and cleanliness, lighting, stockroom, restrooms, etc) Assists Store Manager in physical inventory preparation, count and audit. Operations/Administration Management Takes care in handling and keeping company funds and ensures all cash handling procedures are performed according to company policy. (i.e. bank deposits are processed as required). Ensures timely and accurate completion of daily paperwork, company directives, reporting requirements and administrative tasks. Assists the Store Manager in creating a safe work environment (proper use of box cutters, safe storage and use of ladders, etc) Opening and closing responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager. *The foregoing tasks, duties and responsibilities as well as any other reasonable tasks assigned need to be performed in a timely manner, as to meet the everyday needs of the store. The Team Leader is also expected to accurately and consistently perform all tasks outlined in the job descriptions for those positions that are considered direct reports (i.e. sales associate)
