Position Purpose

The customer service representative will responsible for communicating with customers as they order their meal and oil products from West Fargo. The role will encompass all stages of the ordering process from when the customer emails or calls in with the order until order completion including entering orders into meal load out, managing contract balances, working with and booking carriers, and managing inventories. A key part of the role will also be working with the lab and accounting to ensure all of the paperwork is done correctly. In addition, work with the plant and customers as changes to either schedule arise. The CSR will be the main point of contact with our 3rd party service providers (Trans loaders, packaging facilities)

Principal Accountabilities

30% working with customers on their orders and inputting and managing load numbers for truck and rail.

25% Manage customer inbox and emails to ensure customer gets all information they need and facilitate any requests and changes.

15% Working with carriers, traffic, and CTL as needed to ensure proper logistics are in place

15% Managing inventories and any changes that are needed to load orders and schedules due to customer requests, or changing production plans

10% Manage relationships with 3rd party service providers (warehouses, packaging facilities)

5% Other duties as required


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Agricultural, Business, Logistics or related fields.

  • 2 or more years’ experience in the following functions: supply chain planning, transportation, logistics, or operations

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and act with a sense of urgency

  • Ability to learn about soft seed markets, processing, agronomics and trading in preparation for future roles at West Fargo and/or other Cargill locations

  • Ability to accurately identify and communicate information—in writing and verbally—required to make sound business decisions across many functions

  • Proficient in standard business applications (Excel, Word, Access)

  • Demonstrated ability to direct and lead people, with diverse backgrounds, to accomplish business objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience with agricultural supply chain.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and high attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to develop in-depth technical understanding of complex operational and business activities and implement those concepts across broad geographies

  • Demonstrated ability to direct and lead people, with diverse backgrounds, to accomplish business objectives.

  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the common leadership expectations

  • Experience with working in a large (matrix) organization

  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to obtain necessary data including the appropriate inputs to produce the most optimal schedule that aligns with our customer orders and plant capabilities

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Experience with production planning, detailed scheduling and optimization tools

  • Experience participating in S&OP / IBP processes in a manufacturing, processing industry

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead colleagues without direct authority

  • Lean, six sigma or APICS certification is preferred
