Primary Location: United States (US) - North Dakota (US-ND) - Fargo
Function: Product Engineering
Title: Part-Time Student - Chemistry - Fargo, ND - 38547
Support projects that optimize the operation of the Material Science & Analysis Laboratory analytical instrumentation including, but not limited to, ion chromatographs, FTIR spectrometer, x-ray fluorescence spectrometer, and thermal analysis equipment.
Reviews necessary support documentation for analytical method development and generates internal support documents as directed.
Support the maintenance of testing documentation for each project in a neat and organized fashion for approval by supervisor and other engineering personnel.
Works closely with supervisor or other Advanced Tech personnel, establishes test parameters and executes testing per the test plan.
What It Takes
Must be highly motivated, self-starter, team oriented and work with little or no supervision.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word software.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Pursuing a degree in a Chemistry program
Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
Graduation date of May 2020 or later
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
A strong candidate will also have
Familiarity with general theory, use, and calibration of analytical instrumentation
Ability to accurately prepare calibration standards and test solutions
Strong technical writing skills
