Performs respiratory therapy for patients with related disorders (asthma, emphysema, etc.). Treating and caring for patients with breathing disorders; delivering respiratory therapeutic procedures with the aid of appropriate equipment. Collecting and analyzing sputum, blood, and breath specimens to test levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases; examining and measuring the lung capacity of patients. Coordinating and scheduling patient visits; serving as a liaison between patients and other members of a healthcare team. Educating patients and their families on respiratory treatments and on the usage of related equipment.


Weekend Status Children's Respiratory Therapist.

NICU/PICU/Peds experience required.


Must have current Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position. Must have RRT credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within six months of employment and maintain active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements. A degree in Respiratory Care from a COARC accredited, advanced-level respiratory program is required; Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care is preferred. Respiratory Therapists must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care, as well as knowledge of life support equipment. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate the ability and knowledge required to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for quality care. Certification in Basic Life Support required. If hired as a Children's Hospital therapist, certification in PALS and NRP is required.
