Sanford Health Internship Program aims to provide our interns with challenging, real-world projects specific to their career path. A Family Birth Center Intern will contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first-hand experience that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
A Family Birth Center Administration Intern will assist with various administrative tasks, such as scanning, organizing and re-formatting our virtual logs and Sharepoint site. Assisting to reorganize the current methods of communication with staff to improve efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy of information distributed. The work environment is cooperative and team based. Assisting Director with improving communication and time management with leadership team and staff. The specific project the intern will be working on for the entirety of their internship will be to improve unit communication and efficiency in distribution. Department specific training will include learning the footprint of the department and the multiple units within the FBC. This will include training on our numerous sites used for communication.
Department specific training will include orientation to the various leadership roles/expectations on the FBC. There will be training to the EMTALA program. Training to the security system of the unit.
Must be a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in administration assistant or hospital administration. Must have good human relations and communications skills; must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by the leadership staff. Must have strong problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
