Understanding that selling is an art, the professional we select for this important role will be the order maker—the proactive go-getter who seeks new prospects and grows sales within the marketplace for a specified territory. Spending the majority of time outside of the office in face-to-face meetings with contractors and other customers, this individual will be responsible for achieving or exceeding the expectations of the branch manager according to annual sales goals identified in the budget, including warehouse and direct budget, gross profit percentage, and a number of new accounts.

•Communicating with and selling to a broad range of customers our entire line of roofing materials and other building products, including specialty and non-commodity products.
•Building and developing relationships by relating and adapting to the customer base.
•Developing timely and accurate information regarding prices and the strategies of competitors to develop market awareness.
•Compiling accurate job information based on numerous sources to develop quotes featuring sound pricing and delivery strategies.
•Acting as a consultant with regard to the characteristics, uses, and benefits of an entire line of products.
•Opening new accounts as determined by the branch manager and/or per the annual budgeting process.
•Effectively planning sales calls and maximizing sales time.
•Cooperating with credit functions and communicating accurate, credible information.
•Demonstrating creativity and initiative in becoming a successful territory manager to surpass sales and profit budgets/goals, and finding solutions to close and secure sales.
•Making large job quotes and maintaining a sufficient number of written and filed job quotes in the branch quote book.
•Analyzing sales opportunities and taking decisive action in a timely manner.
•Continually monitoring personal performance by reviewing actual sales against budget and striving to achieve to achieve the goal of 100% performance.
The Building Blocks of Success…
•Two or more years of related sales experience.
•Experience in and working knowledge of the roofing industry and related products/services.
•Mastery of basic elements of the English language and spelling, as well as mathematics.
•Ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions.
•Strong time-management and organizational skills.
•The ability to maintain cooperative, team-based working relationships with all employees and customers.
•A clear thought process, including the ability to think issues through using acceptable standards, resulting in logical conclusions.
•Computer proficiency, including word processing programs.
•The excellent communication skills essential to listening to/comprehending others and making clear, concise presentations.
•High school diploma or GED equivalent.
